Ombudperson Search Launched

Last month we launched a search for UTC’s first full-time ombudperson.  The new ombud will be charged with serving faculty as well as staff.

For those who may not be entirely familiar with such roles: the successful candidate will assist stakeholders in navigating challenges (complaints, concerns, conflicts, etc.) here on campus, with a focus on informal, substantive solutions and conflict mitigation.  The ombud will be another resource for UTC employees and play a role in enhancing the quality of your experience here at UTC.  This new position is an important development for us, and I hope you will join me in helping to publicize the search.

Review of candidates will begin on February 15, 2023, and I am very grateful to Vice Provost Shewanee Howard-Baptiste for her leadership of the committee.  We have high hopes for the search itself, as well as for what it will mean for our campus community.
