UTC CFO TRANSITION UNDERWAY

Today Tennessee Wesleyan University (TWU) announced the appointment of UTC Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Tyler Forrest as the institution’s twenty-second president.  He will assume his new role at the Athens, Tennessee-based university on July 1, 2022.

Tyler Forrest is a three-time graduate of UTC and a former president of UTC’s student body.  He is an Athens native, and he and his wife, Emily, currently reside there with their two young children. Many on our campus will recall that Emily, a UTC alumna, also worked here on campus for years.

Tyler has been a huge asset to our UTC team and has navigated a variety of challenges during his time at UTC, most recently in the vice chancellor role.  UTC is deeply grateful to Tyler for more than 12 years of dedicated service.  We know he will make a significant impact at TWU and wish him well in his new position.  He leaves his division in great shape, with talented leaders at every level.

A national search for a replacement will begin immediately and be supported by Parker Executive Search, with the expectation of filling the position before the end of the year.  A search committee has been appointed and will be chaired by Vicki Farnsworth, Vice Chancellor of Information Technology, who will also serve as interim vice chancellor of finance and administration during the search.

We have a wonderful team of diverse leaders in the finance and administration division, and I know that Vice Chancellor Farnsworth will work with them to sustain the momentum we have enjoyed.  Vice Chancellors Forrest and Farnsworth have already began working on a transition plan, and I encourage every member of the campus community to support them as we work toward the July 1, 2022, transition.

Additional information about the search will be posted early next week on our website.
