Winning Entry
Leo Bagnall submitted the winning entry and had this to say:
I am a Studio Art major with a background in animation and cartooning. I created my entry because vaccination is an extremely important
issue to me, even outside of COVID-19. I wanted to make something that, while it may not present the cold hard facts of the safety and efficacy of the vaccines, is fun and cute and encourages people to get their shot!
Thank you, Leo, for your amazing contribution and hard work!
Congrats on your win!

Make the Call
By Annalise (AJ) Kelley
People, people listen, listen to the words of those who know and care!
The vaccine is not a government scam, it is a solution that doctors want to make aware.
Despite the newness, the vaccine has been influenced by decades of science.
If not anything, it is a cure that should not be so harshly silenced.
Through the clear and careful process of intensive testing.
This vaccine is far from what the media is suggesting.
The vaccination dampens the immediate spread of the virus.
And yet, the majority of the US seems non-desirous.
Some would argue that the virus does not have an effect.
And yet people are dying, show some respect!
“Well, covid does not affect some people.”
This does not mean that it is not to others, lethal.
Why ignore the warnings of doctors and nurses?
Why continue to threaten the lives of other persons?
The occurrence of Delta has caused more infections.
It’s sad that lives are less valued than US elections.
If only media focused on this sifting sand clock.
More so than the novel virus called Tik Tok.
With this Delta, the virus speeds downwards faster.
Dangerously sending humanity into deeper disaster.
Many argue that it fails at preventing covid.
However, the quick recovery through the vaccine is noted.
With the use of the mask and vaccine, the risk is small.
So please stop, listen, save a life, make the call.

My name is Arielle Nord, a senior in the Computer Science department. I’ve always had a passion for art and have been learning how to draw, digitally, traditionally and with watercolor, for about six years now. I was happy to partake in this contest as it was a nice break from having to look at code all day.
