All education students seeking licensure are required to complete “student teaching.” At UTC, these students will be working with their assigned mentors from the local school system to meet all state and University requirements for licensure. Should local schools close, UTC students will work alongside their K-12 mentor teachers to support students virtually (online) to fulfill state requirements.
The School of Education is implementing virtual and online field experience opportunities as needed. In addition, some community organizations are seeking support and have asked to involve UTC students. These options will enable the University to comply with all state and UTC guidelines and ensure students have what they need to stay on track to graduate.
