An article in the June issue of Edge Magazine from the Chattanooga Times Free Press asks several business owners about the future of retail in Chattanooga. It also has CRER director Howard Wall discussing the general health of the local economy as it pertains to the retail sector going forward.
“Wall anticipates that the area’s retail economy will hold up its end, with sales likely to ‘continue to grow through the year.’
‘Retail employment is a bit trickier,’ he adds, ‘but has been growing even as things have slowed a bit generally. … My sense is that retailers are still adjusting to recent growth in Chattanooga and are adding stores and jobs where needed.'”
