The Chattanoogan featured UTC chemical engineering student Jessica “Sarge” Hobbs, who returned to higher education after stepping away earlier in life and joining the Army Reserve to fund her studies. Now nearing graduation, she earned a competitive Gilman Scholarship that will support a study abroad experience in the Netherlands.
