There was an incident with a patron/visitor in the library at closing on Friday. He became agitated when told the library was closing and appeared to be nearing resorting to violence. Security was called and when the police arrived the individual apparently left on his own. He left behind several bags of personal effects which suggested he was homeless, including a cell phone and laptop. On Saturday morning we called security and two officers came and looked through his bags. They found a USB drive and from some of the content on it decided to look for the individual on campus. As far as I know he has not yet been banned from the campus or library, but we have been told that if we see him, to call security. Name of individual and description will be at reference and circ desk.
At 4:00 the patron came back in to claim the items he left behind. A campus officer was present and the patron explained that he was having a medical issue yesterday. The campus police have banned him from the library and we are to call them if he comes back in. Name of patron (who is not a student) and description available at ref and circ desks.
