As I was reviewing information in the tracking system for Facilities, I noticed they had “complete” as the status for the problem elevators. In questioning Laird and Layton about this neither noticed anyone doing repairs to the elevators although Laird did report Steve from Facilities looked at the elevators yesterday. I then contacted David Stallings this afternoon to ask if the elevators were indeed repaired as we still have them out of service. He was going to follow-up to see if the elevator contractor was called and get back with me to let me know if we should continue to have them out of service or if they were ready to be put back in service. I never heard back from him this afternoon so I will follow-up again in the morning.
I think there is some confusion here. I did not see Steve in the library yesterday. I did not see anyone from Facilities nor from the contracted elevator services company.
The actual elevator repairman just left. He has both elevators functioning properly at this time.
