“A Bradford technical support representative will be on campus Thursday to lead an effort to upgrade our software to the latest version and move the control and application servers to a new virtualized hardware. We hope to improve performance and add additional functionality available in the new release. We are targeting the servers that manage our wireless connectivity as they are the ones with recurring performance issues.
The new servers will be setup and the database migrated Thursday morning. At some point Thursday afternoon we will stop services on the old server and bring up the new instance. This may affect wireless connectivity briefly, particularly with UTC-Secure. If you experience wireless issues during that time, you can still connect to the UTC wireless (just connect without selecting it to “connect automatically” and it will return to UTC-Secure the next time).
If there are any unresolvable complications with the update, we will bring the old servers back online. Thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience, but we could not arrange for their tech support to be here for the typical ”after-hours” maintenance window.”
