Hi all –
We’re shifting our WordPress Alerts blog from the library server to the campus server.
What this means:
The old URL was: http://blog.lib.utc.edu/alerts/.
The new URL is: https://blog.utc.edu/library-alerts/.
I’ve already created the new pages & sets of sidebar links, so that they mirror the old blog. I included some core CMS links in the top menu bar… & an extra special link I’ll rotate every Monday. I do not apologize for this week’s link.
Next steps:
– Some of you already have accounts set-up in the new blog. The list of those who don’t is below. You will soon see an email from WordPress confirming your new account. Click the link in that email to confirm.
– We will log in via CAS for this new blog. This means your new WordPress account syncs up with your UTC ID and password.
– The login for the new site lives in the right-hand sidebar, under “Meta”.
– Update your personal and public service desk bookmark links.
– We will come around tomorrow & Thursday (if necessary) and update the RSS feeds in the Growl software that’s running on the machines.
If you have any problems logging in, let me know immediately. I will be sending out the invites for the following list now, before I leave for work:
Evie Deal
Abigail Davis (confirmed)
Katie Gohn (confirmed)
Nicole Tekulve (confirmed)
Lane Wilkinson (confirmed)
Chad Wilson (confirmed)
Chantelle Swaren (confirmed)
Steve Cox (confirmed)
Beverly Kutz (confirmed)
Chapel Cowden (confirmed)
Charlie Remy (confirmed)
Chad Littleton (confirmed)
Caroline Mickey (confirmed)
Carla Odom (confirmed)
Carolyn Runyon (confirmed)
Valarie Adams (confirmed)
Jaime Myers (confirmed)
Susan Edmondson (confirmed)
Theresa Liedtka (confirmed)
Virginia Cairns (confirmed)
Once I’ve confirmed everyone is active, can log-in & Growl has been updated, I’ll archive the old site, but keep the server running. All previous posts have been imported into the new blog, though I’ll be casually reassigning author posts, cleaning up categories & so forth, over the next month or two.
Any questions, let me know.
Thanks,
– Brian
