Between now and June 30 we will be transitioning from Gold Rush to WorldCat for our link resolver. Essentially, this is the tool that works behind the scenes to obtain full text when you click on “Get It” in a database. Currently the Gold Rush linker landing page consists of various colors (green is full text, yellow is the platform, red is ILL). The WorldCat linker landing page will look different with fewer colors (it’s less customizable than Gold Rush). We recently conducted student usability testing on both interfaces and students were able to successfully and easily find full text links via the WorldCat linker landing page.
We currently use the WorldCat link resolver to access full text from WorldCat Local (whenever you click on “view now”) so it makes sense to fully transition to WorldCat for our link resolver between third party databases.
During the transition to the new link resolver, some of our databases will use Gold Rush for linking while others will use WorldCat linker. This is because we have to individually configure each database platform (nearly 100) with the new link resolver details. Nevertheless, you should be able to link to full text during this transition period.
We have a test profile set up in EBSCO where you can try using the new link resolver if you’d like:

Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or aren’t able to link to what you need to and I’ll be happy to help.
