Tragic reports of miscreant media hubs continue to pile upon. After feelin’ the fool from them actin’ the fool, we tapped CAIT to turn their knowing gaze upon said hubs.
Short Summary: The media hubs are inconsistently suffering the inability to switch between inputs (VGA, HDMI, Bluetooth, Audio).
Medium Summary: If one student goes in to use an HDMI, the next student might not be able to use VGA, or Bluetooth, or Audio. Audio seems to suffer the most from this problem. As does Bluetooth. CAIT was able to “reset” the issue by prying the media hub from the wall, disconnecting & reconnecting everything. But no indication for how long the fix lasts until the problem replicates itself like a filthy virus monger.
LibIT will be reaching out to the company of now-ill-repute which manufactured these recalcitrant pieces of not-so-smooth operators to see if there’s some way to fix this issue longterm that doesn’t require using them as bow ‘n’ arrow targets.
