All – one of the Central IT groups/committees which with we have involvement is Campus Application Management, which, in theory, is to help Central & Distributed IT groups maintain a larger discussion and unity around how devices (desktops, laptops) are managed (this ties into the imaging & software presentation we held in the fall).
We had our first meeting with this group for the new year. I’m sharing the Central IT PowerPoint from yesterday here. There aren’t a ton of details in the document, but you can see there are intersections with common concerns like Office 365 cloud migration, SharePoint upgrades & Windows 10 upgrades. At present, there are no concrete dates for any of this to transpire, though it’s plausible we’ll shift to Windows 10 in the fall.
I’m sharing this document because I know there have been passing questions from different folks in the library over the last semester. Given the paucity of detail in the document, if any of you have questions or concerns, feel free to send to the libtech@utc.edu distribution list.
