In what is certain to be the highlight of your day (barring Mike’s plea for acoustic peace), Microsoft has now released the “Skype for Business” client for Mac… which is the Skype that’s affiliated with our O365 accounts.
You now may be asking yourself, “How do I procure this majestic piece of software such that I might be a more productive member of the university?”
And here, dear friends, is how:
- Log into portal.office.com
- Near the upper right corner of your browser, it will say “Install Office 2016.”
- Do not click “Install Office 2016.”
- Instead, click right below it, “Other installs.”
- On the page that now appears, there is a left column called “Software.”
- Beneath that is a tab called “Skype for Business” which you should most definitely click.
- There will now be an “Install” button under “Skype for Business”.
- Click that nonsense.
And that is all the knowledge I have to bequeath unto you, regarding the future we live in, wherein we need two separate Skype clients in order to talk at people.
I miss AOL chat.
