There have been reports that in the attempt to register devices over the UTC wireless network, students have been able to initially connect to the network, but upon hitting portal.utc.edu or portal.utc.edu/registration, the pages are occasionally dead/not loading, thus preventing a full registration from taking place.
This is a known issue for campus, but the prior solution has stopped working. The temporary fix requires a manual intervention from campus, which explains why the experience of the issue is sporadic on the patron side.
Until the issue is permanently addressed, the two solutions from our end are: 1) direct the students to 105 Pfeiffer Hall or x4000 during normal operating hours; 2) have them try again later, if they aren’t in a rush. Number #1 is still preferable, as it alerts Campus IT to the need for refreshing the manual intervention.
