2nd Floor Printer #2 (closest to stairwell) is out of toner. 2nd Floor Printer #1 is seemingly at 7% toner.
A few notes about the public printers & toner:
– At 7% remaining toner, our printers will auto-generate a ticket to FootPrints, notifying the GoPrint techs of such. This used to be at 3% until we repeatedly… voiced our concerns.
– Under normal conditions, these commercial toners can last up to an additional day or so beyond the low toner warning. That being said, I’ve never seen a figure for “average number of print jobs corresponding to % toner left”.
– As Commons did today, we should only put an out-of-order sign on any of these printers if the actual print quality begins to degrade.
– Campus promises to have all toner issues resolved within one business day. They’ve stated they will come out later today to fix this one.
If ever this process fails (as it might have with Printer #2), loop libadmin@utc.edu in on it. We don’t receive those FootPrint notifications, since campus is charge of the toner.
