My laptop + student worker laptop + libh3lp conversation suggests wifi was/is out &/or intermittent in the library around 1050-11. I called HelpDesk & they said it was reported in one other place, but they weren’t sure why, or how widespread. Will update this entry as I hear more.
11:44 Update from Central:
“Wireless is back up. As far as I can tell by looking at logs it was down about 4 minutes (relevant log entries below). It appears that the connection between the wireless router and the core router dropped. Unplugging and replugging brought it back up. This could be an indicator of failing hardware in the main campus core (where I did the reconnection), but that machine is ancient so I’m not entirely surprised of a failure here. We have a new core purchased and I’m working on getting it installed so hopefully this doesn’t happen again before I can get the new core up and running.”
Brian sez: some of us were still having intermittent issues around 11:30 & it looks like more places around campus began reporting issues as well.
