We have a 3 month internal library trial of Oxford University Press’ Very Short Introductions ebook product to see if it might be helpful for our Affordable Course Materials Initiative that we’re launching.
Very Short Introductions have been around in print for 15-20 years and are now available as an online subscription database. Each title usually has between 100-150 pages and gives the reader a high level overview of a topic.
When you get a chance, please spend some time looking over both the content and the interface and let me know what you think. http://proxy.lib.utc.edu/login?url=http://www.veryshortintroductions.com
I’m curious if we think this might be a good resource for faculty to find course readings that they could assign to their students.
The title list can be downloaded here: https://wikilib.utc.edu/images/8/88/Oup_vsi_ebook_list.xlsx
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
