If students have issues with the card reader accepting their Mocs card, please try a few of these options before sending them to the card office. Print points were successfully loaded this year so we shouldn’t be seeing many issues.
1. Check the student’s card. Look and see if there’s a chip, dent, or other form of damage to the stripe on the back. If there is damage, try to swipe the card firmly, pushing it against the reader. Sometimes this will work! If not, ask them to go to the card office for a replacement.
2. Check to make sure that there is not a low balance error. Some students lab packets alone end up costing over $10. Ask if it’s a big print job, what they’ve printed so far this semester, and,if necessary, show them how to load money onto their card.
Thanks!
