Students in Jennifer Lubke’s EDUC 3210 course have just been given an assignment to locate and evaluate a textbook. You may receive questions about this at the desk. Please direct these students to the K-12 Textbook Resources tab located on the Education Research Guide. On that page, I have collected a set of links to both the online TN textbook samples and several open access repositories.
The repositories, both TN and OER, contain wide varieties of material – everything from complete textbooks to simple one page lesson plans. It is up to the students to locate and evaluate a resource through one of these repositories so all you need to do is guide them to the page. They have been given instructions and a detailed rubric of criteria to use in completing the assignment, so otherwise they should have everything they need.
