Fire personnel extracted a patron who was trapped in the elevator on third floor (Lib 2) this evening. UTC police reported it to dispatch and asked that the elevator company be contacted (tomorrow one assumes). We have blocked both elevator doors on 1st, and placed out of order signs on the elevators upstairs. It is preferred that neither side be used until a service technician has looked at them since we had a similar problem just last week. Desk students will be attempting to block any further use of either elevator tonight but this is always a problem at closing. The right hand elevator probably would operate okay but UTC police requested we not use either tonight so we’ve done what we can to block use.
