The stairs are closed while Facilities works on fixing the treads. Also, although the elevator fixers were here and okayed the cars earlier, it appears the car on the right is jerking and lurching as it comes to a stop. We’ve requested another look at them.
I reported the issue to Facilities via FAMIS at 12:41 on 03/02/2011. I also called and left a voice mail with David Stallings
A group of patrons were just stuck in the elevator for several minutes. They contacted security via the phone and by the time they were here, the doors had opened and the patrons dispersed. A member of facilities (didn’t get his name as I was tied up with patrons) came and looked it over and then he and the police left.
Another update: The repairman just left and has shut off the right elevator while he attempts to get a part for replacement. No ETA on when it’ll be operational. So we have one elevator.
Facilities stated that the stairs should not be used until tomorrow morning.
