I found out recently that students are moving to the same 6 month password change schedule that employees are on. That, along with new students who may not have set passwords yet, may cause problems, especially with the first time logging in to our public workstations. So here’s a good link: https://secure.utc.edu/pw/forgot.php. It is a secure page that can be accessed anywhere.
Also, in case you’re not near someplace where you have that link stored, searching “forgot password” on the UTC front page will give this link as the very first result. This will work well on the guest workstations.
This was discovered when another lab on campus moved to Active Directory for shared computers. New and returning students should have receive notification from the university to set or reset their passwords.
Another option (and the one I recommend, unless the user can’t log in to it) is to change passwords from the Resources tab in the MyMocsNet portal.
