As you may be aware, WMS is live!
Our material and holding information has been passed and added to the OCLC database. Testing and record review has now begun on our end. Many, many thanks to those reviewing and comparing records to assure data quality.
Today also marked the completion of our data transfer of all circulation information, and as a result some patrons may receive a “test bill notification” message. Circulation and Reference Folks – please apologize and explain to patrons that we are migrating to a new circulation system, and assure them they will not be billed for items they returned. The gap in records is about three weeks (Andrea pulled our circulation data on 6/19), so items returned between 6/19 and today are not yet checked in via WMS. Andrea is running us a report and Circulation hopes to update and clear impacted patron accounts by the end of the day or tomorrow.
I just sent a note out to campus announcing the change. Many, many thanks to everyone who has been working so hard on this migration! We are still working on lots of fronts, but we are one big step closer to making it happen. Please let Jason or me know if you run into any problems or have any questions. T.
