Three Months of MobileMOC: A Look at Our Impact and What’s Ahead
It’s been just over three months since MobileMOC launched, and the momentum is building. What began as a vision to bring healthcare directly to older adults in rural Southeast Tennessee is quickly becoming a trusted, on-the-ground presence in communities across the region.
As part of our commitment to transparency and community engagement, we’re excited to share our 3-Month Impact Report. This is a snapshot of the progress we’ve made, the partnerships we’ve built, and the lives we’ve already touched.
What is MobileMOC?
MobileMOC is a mobile health outreach initiative focused on promoting healthy aging across 10 counties in Southeast Tennessee. Our project was made possible by a $2.6 million grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to the University of Tennessee College of Nursing through its Healthcare Resiliency Program.
Our mobile clinics bring accessible, preventive healthcare directly into underserved communities, helping older adults age well, age safely, and age with dignity.
Highlights from Our First 3 Months
From our first clinic location, MobileMOC has grown quickly. Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far:
Expanded our monthly mobile clinic schedule to reach more communities across our 10-county service area. We are in 12 locations across the 10 county district.
Launched the Champions Club, a new initiative to engage patients and community members to promote healthy aging
Delivered healthcare services to older adults through regular mobile clinics, community events, and local partnerships
Engaged student volunteers from the University of Tennessee who bring energy, insight, and a desire to learn through service
Built strong relationships with local organizations, health providers, and community leaders
We are proud of the early outcomes and deeply grateful to the dedicated team of healthcare professionals, students, volunteers, and partners who have made this work possible.
Why MobileMOC Matters
Local access to healthcare remains one of the biggest challenges for rural older adults. Many individuals face obstacles such as transportation issues, long travel distances, and limited availability of providers.
MobileMOC addresses these barriers by bringing essential care, such as health screenings, chronic disease management, wellness education, and social support.
Our project is all about building trust, forming relationships, and creating lasting impact.
How You Can Get Involved
Whether you’re a student, a local resident, a patient, or a potential donor, there are many ways to support MobileMOC:
Students can get involved through hands-on learning and volunteer opportunities
Community members can help by spreading the word or partnering with us to host a clinic
Patients and families can attend our free clinics and access services close to home
Donors and organizations can support program expansion, innovation, and sustainability
Together, we can continue to make healthcare more accessible, more personal, and more community-focused.
Looking Ahead
These first three months are just the beginning. As we continue to listen to the needs of our communities and learn from every stop we make, MobileMOC is preparing to expand its reach and deepen its impact.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
