As we approach the end of another academic year, it’s a time to reflect on the accomplishments of our students and the experiences they’ve gained. With summer approaching, it’s an opportunity for our students to explore, rest, and recharge for the challenges and opportunities that lie as they continue at UTC in the Fall!
We’re especially proud of our graduating seniors and their remarkable efforts throughout their time at UTC. Their dedication, resilience, and achievements have left a mark on our campus community, and we’re excited to see where their futures take them! If you have a graduating Moc, be sure to check out the information below on how to send them a special shout out before the commencement ceremony!
Additionally, this week we’ll be celebrating “I Love UTC” week from April 1-7. It’s a fun-filled week dedicated to showcasing why our students love our campus. Encourage your student to check out the activities taking place on campus by visiting the I Love UTC Week webpage.

The Pro Bono Student-Faculty Physical Therapy Clinic is run by a physical therapist faculty member along with third year physical therapy doctoral students in the fall and first year physical therapy doctoral students in the spring. We see patients with or without a prescription on a pro bono basis. First, we examine the patient and then assist them with determining an action plan to resolve functional limitations, decrease pain, or improve fitness. Our goals are to provide free and prompt care, through University Health Services, to people who would otherwise not seek it out due to finances or inconvenience (https://www.utc.edu/enrollment-management-and-student-affairs/university-health-services/services).
It is important to our campus community because it unites our program to the campus as a whole and provides connections for both parties. The Pro Bono clinic gives the students a chance to demonstrate their knowledge through evaluations, treatments, and home exercise programs which helps them to learn and grow from actual experiences. We treat diverse UTC students, faculty, and staff that help us learn and keep us engaged in what is going on at the university so we can best determine our role in bettering the community.
If your student is interested in these services please have them contact ptclinic@utc.edu .

Leadership Coaching Is Available!
Leadership Coaching is a process between invested individuals who have the intent of progressing towards a desired future. We invite your student to explore one of our many tailored coaching options to identify personal skills that future internship hosts and employers are looking for; to identify way to further exemplify top leadership practices; to encourage calculated risk; and to see how to apply strengths-based leadership to any organizational challenges, career, habits, or relationships. Regardless of their academic major or year in school, this service is applicable to your student.
- In two 60-minute sessions, your students can expect to take a research-based instrument or survey; to receive their results; and to develop a tailored plan of next steps based on the results.
- To learn more about these opportunities and to schedule the best option, your student should email Daniel Grzesik, Director of Leadership Development and Programs, at Daniel-Grzesik@utc.edu.
Is a family member or friend graduating in May? Give them a shout-out! We’ll display your short message and/or photo during your grad’s commencement ceremony.

On April 1st students will begin receiving emails from the American College Health Association on behalf of UTC’s Center for Wellbeing asking them to complete the National College Health Assessment (NCHA). This survey, which UTC last administered in 2017, will be open until April 22nd. This is their opportunity to inform health and wellness efforts at UTC.
The NCHA is a voluntary and confidential online survey. The NCHA takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete, and asks questions regarding health behaviors, attitudes, and experiences (covering topics from mental health, nutrition, sexual health, exercise, sleep, substance use, and more).
The Center for Wellbeing devotes a significant amount of energy and resources to administering the NCHA because we rely heavily on the information gathered to create and prioritize our programming on campus. This is your student’s opportunity to share their voice and help shape health and wellness on campus!
As a thank you for their time, all students who complete the NCHA will be entered to win one of the following:
1. 10th Generation Apple iPad (1 available)
2. $50 GrubHub Gift Card (3 available)
3. ENO TravelNest Hammock with Straps (3 available)
4. 15lbs Weighted Blanket (3 available)
For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email megan-mcknight@utc.edu or jami-hargrove@utc.edu or call the Center for Wellbeing at 423-425-4640.
As the semester is winding down and your student is trying to find ways to take a break from studying, suggest they check out MocSync, UTC’s one stop shop for involvement opportunities. Students can browse the community events calendar and find great ways to plug in and recharge as they finish out the semester. MocSync is also the home to our 150+ students organizations. Your student can look to join a club now, or start mapping out what involvement might look like for them in the fall! Year round, this is a great resource to connect to UTC!
The Office of Student and Family Engagement is ready to launch this year’s Student Program Survey Monday, March 25 – Friday, April 12, 2024.
Please encourage your student visit the survey link HERE to begin! The survey will close on Friday, April 12 at 5PM.
