UTC Parents and Families,
Spring has sprung on campus, and it is mid-term time – a time that can bring extra stress for our UTC Students. Families play a vital role in supporting students throughout their college journey, offering encouragement and guidance during challenging times. We wanted to share a resource that could be helpful to share with your students to manage the stress and find support available to them both on and off campus.
The Office of Student Outreach & Support (SOS), part of the Dean of Students Office, provides case management, basic needs services, and general support for students experiencing a disruption to their normal academic studies. SOS staff guides and helps connect students with a variety of resources both on and off-campus, whether they are experiencing physical or mental health, personal, or family concerns.
If you have concerns about your student and it is not an emergency, please submit a Community Member of Concern Referral (www.utc.edu/coc) so that SOS can send outreach and offer support appropriately. Through our outreach, we aim to help students develop self-advocacy, resiliency, and coping skills.
If you have concerns about your student, and it is an emergency, please call Campus PD at 423-425-HELP.
The UTC Parent and Family Association can also serve as a connector to a variety of resources on campus, such as Student Outreach & Support. If you have questions or concerns, PFA is here to help—reach out to us at utcparents@utc.edu.
Best,
Latisha Hubbard, Associate Director for Student Outreach and Support &
Hannah Turcotte, Assistant Director for Student and Family Engagement

Due to continued unexpected delays we continue to encourage students to set up ACH/Direct Deposit for refunds through the student’s MyMocsNet account. This option is secure and provides the quickest access to funds. Paper checks are mailed to the permanent address on file, which can take 5-10+ days via USPS. If assistance is needed on adding the refund account information, please go to www.utc.edu/bursar, click the “Video Instructions” tab in the middle of the page and click on the video titled “Bursar Series: Direct Deposit.
If the Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) was utilized for the Spring Semester, the third payment was due on March 1 with final payment due on April 1. A late fee of $50 is applied on the 4th of the month if the scheduled payment is not received. Please note that an unpaid balance can affect future registrations. On April 2, a hold will be placed on the accounts that still owe for Spring 2025.
The 1098T is now available on the student’s MyMocsNet account. This is a document that each student should have for tax related processes.

Off-Campus Student Services
Coming off a successful Housing Fair in which over 60 properties and on-campus partners came together to provide great offers, insights, and advice for students looking to off-campus housing, Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) is eager to continue the work. Aiming to serve students, alleviate their stress, and help them find housing for next year, OCSS meets students where they are, no matter what experience or support they have, and, through collaborations with on-campus partners, provides them with perspectives, resources, and tools to navigate the off-campus housing journey.
Securing housing for next year is our goal, and there is plenty of housing out there for students to find. Encourage your student to check out Off-Campus Student Services…Pfeiffer 207, x4252, ocss@utc.edu, or utc.edu/ocss…we are here to help!
