Over the last couple of weeks, there have been two incidents where the free expression of student organizations was removed without authorization or vandalized. As a reminder to the campus community, these behaviors represent violations of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) Student Code of Conduct and, as such, cannot be tolerated.
UTC strives to be a welcoming environment for all people. We seek to inspire, nurture, and empower scholarship, creativity, discovery in an environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion. To do this, we encourage the free exchange of ideas among all members of the University community. However, activities that lead to the destruction of property or the unauthorized removal of properly registered expression are not appropriate.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding these incidents or UTC’s policies and procedures surrounding issues of free expression, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of the Dean of Students. We are located in room 399 of the University Center and can be reach via phone at 423-425-4761 or at via email at DOS@utc.edu.
