Planning Committee for the Commission on the Status of Women Nominations
The Planning Committee for the Commission on the Status of Women is seeking nominations from students to serve on the Commission on the Status of Women starting Fall 2021. Students can nominate themselves or nominate another student. Nominations are not limited to those who identify as women. This commission is dedicated to the support of all women on our campus (faculty, staff and students), regardless of age, race, class, ethnicity, gender identity, physical or mental abilities, veteran status, and or sexual orientation. The purpose of this commission is to address the need to ensure equity for women and to create an environment based on a philosophy of social, political, and economic equality for all people throughout the institution. The commission will be composed of 7 tenure/tenure-track, 3 non-tenure track, and 1 adjunct faculty members, 5 exempt staff and 5 non-exempt staff members, 2 undergraduate and 2 graduate students. Complete the Beyond the Classroom Challenge
The Beyond the Classroom Challenge is a great way for students to jump into a broad variety of FREE campus and community events, as well as learn more about UTC, Chattanooga, and themselves—all based on their own schedules and interests. Each week, this newsletter will identify events that count towards the challenge. You can also view more events HERE. Students participating in the challenge who participate and reflect on 10 events can earn awards and recognition.
