Dear Faculty and Staff,
We are opening up our sign-ups for Safe Zone Aspiring Ally training. There are only 15 slots per training so it is important to sign up quickly.
This training will help participants learn to create a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ members of campus by providing education, resources and advocacy.
Safe Zone training:
- Explores LGBTQ+ issues in an honest and open way
- Provides participants with an opportunity to explore the concept of an LGBTQ+ aspiring ally and the commitments an LGBTQ+ aspiring ally makes
- Explores concepts and definitions related to the LGBTQ+ community while providing participants with tools to be an effective ally
The training includes small group activities, an information session and large group discussions. Participants will then be able to display a UTC Safe Zone Aspiring Ally sticker in their office to demonstrate their commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. A Safe Zone is a space in which anyone in the LGBTQ+ community will be supported and affirmed.
Spaces are limited. To register, please visit here.
