We are thrilled to announce that the Center for Global Education and the Department of Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies will feature Dr. Lindsay Whetter, a visiting research scholar from the UK, at the International Teatime between 3 pm and 4:30 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
This Special International Teatime will be held in the Lupton Hall Lobby.
Dr. Whetter specializes in prison ethnography, having spent over 20 years working in the criminal justice system as a researcher and a facilitator of programs ranging from art workshops to restorative justice courses.
Dr. Whetter facilitated the Alternatives to Violence Project and taught for the Prison to College Pipeline in NY State Prisons and will be conducting ethnographic research on the lived experiences of people incarcerated in Tennessee prisons while she is at UTC.
Dr. Whetter earned MSsc in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the Queen’s University of Belfast and PhD. in Criminology at the University of Exeter.
