Glimpses of student activities, including the cooking class, printing workshop, and street art tour.
In Summer 2023, Dr. Tony Cepak took 10 UTC students to Barcelona for a study abroad experience.
Students enrolled in Dr. Cepak’s “The Creative Process in a Global Context” course spent three weeks in Spain learning about the creative process. Upon returning to the U.S., students spent an additional three weeks finishing projects based on their experiences.
While in Barcelona students visited the Big Fun Museum, Museu de Cera, Set Lab, Lomography Barcelona, Museum Manla, Salvidor Dali Museum, and Sagrada Família. They also took a guided market tour and cooking class, went on a street art tour, participated in a letter press printing workshop, and participated in a mosaic restoration workshop.
Students created a variety of visual products based on their experiences include visual journals, a mini museum, a typography exploration, and a “Tell Me a Tale” video.
Students also contribute to a class blog and documented their experienced on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/creativejourneyutc/
