Prof. Luke Manget took students in his class on Appalachian History (HIST 3920) to Cades Cove, TN over spring break.
The class had been reading a community study of Cades Cove prior to it becoming a national park as a window into the broader Appalachian region’s history. The students were using the trip to study the Cades Cove landscape as a way to better understand the cove’s history. They are working towards creating a digital museum exhibit that uses photographs to explore different aspects of the cove’s history and plan on launching a website that will include the exhibits in the next month.
