Now entering our 13th year, the Moccasin Bend Fall Lecture Series brings thought leaders and subject matter experts to share stories and experiences related to National Parks, conservation, history, American Indian culture, and much more. Sponsored since the beginning by Greg A. Vital, our 2018 lineup includes:
Dr. Littlefield is the Director of the Sequoyah National Research Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and his lecture will focus on The Role of American Indians in World War I
Dr. Savoy is a Professor of Environmental Studies at Mount Holyoke College, and will present a reading from her award-winning book, Trace: Memory, History, Race, and the American Landscape
Dr. Finkelman is the President of Gratz College and renowned legal historian. He will discuss the Implications of the Civil Rights Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, in conjunction with the 15th Amendment exhibit created by the National Park Service through a partnership funded by National Park Partners.
