Two members of the UTC Department of History recently received prestigious awards.
Prof. John Swanson‘s recent book, Tangible Belonging: Negotiating Germanness in Twentieth-Century Hungary (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2017), was the 2018 winner of the Barbara Jelavich Book Prize, which “is awarded annually for a distinguished monograph published on any aspect of Southeast European or Habsburg studies since 1600, or nineteenth- and twentieth-century Ottoman or Russian diplomatic history.”
James Scott, a graduate of and current instructor in the department, received The National Medal of Honor Foundation’s Excellence in Character Education Award.
Congratulations to them both!
