Prof. Susan Eckelmann Berghel’s co-edited volume Growing Up America: Youth and Politics since 1945 was recently published by the University of Georgia Press and is now available for purchase.
History Faculty Awarded Walker Center Classroom Grants
The Walker Center for Teaching and Learning awarded Prof. Eddie Brudney and Prof. Fang Yu Hu Classroom Mini-Grants to support the student research poster presentations they included in their Fall 2019 courses.
Prof. John Swanson Named Guerry Professor
Prof. John Swanson was named a Guerry Professor beginning in August 2019.
Established by anonymous gifts in 1959 and 1961 in memory of the University’s esteemed seventh president and in honor of his dedicated wife, the Guerry Professorship recognizes a select group of outstanding professors.
Prof. Annie Tracy Samuel Awarded PREP Grant
Prof. Annie Tracy Samuel was awarded a Pre-Tenure Enhancement Grant by the UTC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. The grant supports pre-tenure faculty in bolstering their research portfolio in anticipation of the promotion and tenure process.
Prof. Tracy Samuel will use the award to support the completion of her book, entitled The Unfinished History of the Iran-Iraq War: Faith, Firepower, and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
