Spring 2020 alum Chris Cage was accepted into the Human Resources graduate program at Western Carolina University.

History minor alum Nathan Collyer worked on the ChattaStory Project, a website that aims to engage and connect people with places by immersing them in the geography, geology, and history of local sites using interactive ESRI ArcGIS StoryMaps.

History major Trisha Daugherty completed a summer internship with UTC Library’s Special Collections and wrote about her experience here.

History major Alex Furr completed an internship at National Park Partners, as part of which she published a blog post about Jacob Cummings, who escaped enslavement on Moccasin Bend in 1839 via the Underground Railroad.

Spring 2021 graduate Regine E. McDavid was accepted into the Teach For America program and will be instructing and mentoring students in Memphis.

Rebekah Reed, spring 2016 alum, graduated from Harvard Law School in the spring of 2021.

Spring 2018 alum Zeke Starr graduated from Duke Law School in the spring of 2021.

Jonah Stokes, who graduated from UTC in spring 2021 with a double major in History and English, edited and contributed to the 2021 collection “The Lavender Chronicles: Stories of Queer Livelihood, Hope, Love and Identity.”

Spring 2021 graduate Cole Whitaker received the 2021 American History Scholarship from the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Tennessee. He was also commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and is now continuing his historical studies at The Citadel.
