On Tuesday Feb. 7 and Wednesday Feb. 8 the MCC and Africana Studies will host a 2-day marathon screening of the award-winning 1987 documentary series “Eyes on the Prize.”
Produced by Blackside, the series offers a lens on the events of the 1950s and 1960s, giving viewers new insights into what creator Henry Hampton called “the remarkable human drama that was the Civil Rights Movement.”
Including footage of landmark figures including Reverand Ralph Abernathy, Coretta Scott King, and Kwame Ture (also known as Stokely Carmichael), this series is a must-see for students of Black history!
Screenings will start at 11AM in the Multicultural Center (Lupton 119) and will continue until we run out of steam (around 3PM each day).
Come for the duration or stop in for half an hour to learn something new!
