UTC History professors Ruby Choudhury, James Guilfoyle, and Annie Tracy Samuel will participate in the 2019 Teacher Inservice Training for public school teachers on July 15, 2019. The event in sponsored by Hamilton County Schools and Tennessee History for Kids.

Announcing the 2019 History “Tent Revival” Teacher Inservice — Monday, July 15, 2019, at Hixson Middle School in Chattanooga.
This will be an unforgettable day of standards-based social studies and history content training. It will include about 40 of the best history and social studies presenters in the state–authors, scholars, history buffs, reenactors and teachers–all under the same roof!
This event is co-produced by Hamilton County Schools and Tennessee History for Kids. It will go from 8:30 until 4:00 and will feature seven breakout sessions, where teachers can choose their topic and presenter.

Here are some of the presenters who will be featured that day:
Ruby Choudhury (adjunct instructor of history at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga) on the Roman Empire and Roman Civilization. Intended target audience: 6th grade and high school world history teachers.
James Guilfoyle (history lecturer at the University of Tennessee–Chattanooga) on ancient India and (separate presentation) on the Enlightenment. Intended target audiences: 6th and 9th grade world history teachers.
Annie Tracy Samuel (assistant professor of history at UT Chattanooga) on the history of Islam. Intended target audience: 7th grade and High School World History teachers.
