In March 2020, Profs. Susan Eckelmann Berghel and Mark Johnson took students on a Chattanooga Civil Rights tour, led by guide Michael Gilliland. The tour was the opening event for the Africana Studies / First-Generation College Students trip to Civil Rights sites in Montgomery and Birmingham.
