On November 7, members of the UTC History Club, along with Drs. Annie Tracy Samuel and Michael Samuel, had the chance to visit Red Clay State Historic Park in Cleveland, TN. This park is a critical site in many intersecting histories, including those related to frontier settlement and Cherokee Removal during the first decades of the nineteenth century.

During the visit History Club members both explored the park and took a guided tour with a Red Clay park ranger, who detailed some of the critically important historical occurrences.

If you’re interested in participating in these kinds of events, if you love History, or if you just want to learn more, feel free to drop by the History Department (currently located in Patten House) or reach out to the UTC History Club on Instagram (@utc_historyclub)!
