Every semester UTC History majors and minors have the opportunity to participate in a variety of internships that take history beyond the classroom. In HIST 4920: Internships in History, students can earn academic credit while interning at some of the region’s outstanding historical and community institutions.

Internships Information Session
The Department of History invites all majors and minors to join a UTC Internships Information Session on September 28 at 2:00 pm in the Southern Writers Room (UTC Library).
Student Films about the Holocaust
UTC students present the films they made about the Holocaust while in Germany and Poland on a study tour led by Dr. John Swanson. Friday, April 21, 5:00 PM.
4th Annual Civil War Era Lecture
The Department of History and the Africana Studies Program hosts UTC’s 4th Annual Civil War Era Lecture on April 20. This year’s speaker will be Jim Downs, Associate Professor of History at Connecticut College. His talk is entitled “Dying to Be Free: The Health Conditions of Formerly Enslaved People During the Civil War and Reconstruction.”
