Status Update – August 17, 2026 at 11:41 PM: Microsoft has provided the following update regarding the issue:

Our investigation identified that a recent deployment introduced a resource utilization inefficiency issue, leading to impact. We’ve developed and are deploying a fix to reduce the resource pressure and restore service. We’re monitoring as this progresses to identify a completion timeline.

Issue Reported – August 17, 2026 at 8:46 AM: Microsoft has reported an issue impacting some users and causing them to be unable to search for content in SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Outlook on the web, or Outlook desktop. Microsoft is actively investigating and working to resolve the issue. An update will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
