Three MPH second-year students presented their research at the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting November 2-6, 2019 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The research presentations included:
- Mckenzie Gregg: physical activity prescription and referral in pediatric clinics,
- Kim Reid: chronic disease prevention training in medical education, and
- Emma Sampson: physical activity training in nursing programs.
In addition, MPH second-year Zach Farley, an APHA Student Assembly Member, received the 2019 Annual Meeting Student Scholarship Award and served as a moderator for two oral sessions at the conference. During this time, Zach also met with the APHA President and other student leaders across the country. Shortly after, Zach applied for a leadership role and was awarded the Social Chair position for the APHA Physical Activity Section Student Committee. In this role, Zach will aid in organizing the 2020 APHA Physical Activity Twitter Conference; enhance communication among and between student members, early career professionals, and seasoned professionals.
