My name is Emma Sampson and I serve as the Program Manager for the Master of Public Health Program. I graduated from UTC with my bachelors in Exercise Science and then proceeded to obtain my MPH with a concentration in chronic disease prevention and control at UTC. I was part of the first cohort to go through this program! During my time in the master’s program, I worked at the Hamilton County Coalition serving as a program coordinator over a state funded grant focusing on the prevention of underage drinking and prescription drug use and continued working there after graduation. In January 2021, I came on board as the Program Manager here at UTC! I oversee the day-to-day activities of the program as well as help with the recruitment of students, oversee the Public Health Exposure course, engage with community partners, aid in accreditation status of the program and more. During my time in this position, I have been able to help assist two trips to San Salvador, Bahamas with MPH students under the leadership of Dr. Dawn Ford as well as execute community events such as the Blue Zones Project and Food Co Op event. In my free time I love to travel, go to the movies and spend time with friends and family.
