Welcome to a new semester at UTC! Whether you are a new family joining us for your student’s first semester or returning for another exciting academic year, we are thrilled to have you as part of our parent and family community. As we kick off this semester, we recognize the unique and challenging transitions that both you and your student might be facing. For some, this may be the first time away from home, while others might be returning with new goals and challenges ahead. Whatever the journey, we are here to support you and your student every step of the way.
The start of the semester is always an exciting time on campus, and this year is no exception. Our Welcome Week events were filled with energy, excitement, and plenty of opportunities for students to connect, make new friends and grab a free meal! From the memorable campus traditions to the fun late night events, we hope your student had a blast and feels more at home in our campus community.
As we move forward into the semester, we encourage you to stay connected with us and be an active part of your student’s experience. Follow us on social media to keep up with the latest news, events, and important updates. We can be found on Facebook at @utcparents and on Instagram at @utcparents. It’s a great way to see what’s happening on campus and to find resources that can help you support your student throughout their time here. Additionally, you are always welcome to reach out via email should you need anything, utcparents@utc.edu.
Thank you for entrusting us with your student’s education. We look forward to an amazing semester ahead!

Greetings from Janice Cosey, Bursar
The Fall 2024 Semester has already begun, and I hope your student is enjoying the next level of educational studies. Welcome to the UTC Family!
The Bursar Office Team is prepared to assist in the continued educational journey of your student(s)! Email should be checked regularly to avoid any oversight of important information via the student portal, MyMocsNet. It is suggested students provide access to parents, guardians, or others, by setting up the MyMocsPass Phase, through the MyMocsNet account, which also allows the Bursar Office Team to discuss specific account related information.
We continue to encourage students to set up ACH/Direct Deposit for refunds through the student’s MyMocsNet account. It is a vital step to ensure the funds expected can be delivered as quickly and securely as possible. Paper checks are mailed to the permanent address on file, which can take 5-10+ days via USPS. If assistance is needed on adding the refund account information, please go to www.utc.edu/bursar, click the “Video Instructions” tab in the middle of the page and click on the video titled “Bursar Series: Direct Deposit.
If the Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) was utilized for the Fall Semester, the first payment was due September 1, 2024, followed by due dates of October 1 and November 1. Late fees are applied on the 4th of the month if the scheduled payment is not received.
If you have general questions, please contact our office at 423.425.4781 or email us at Bursars-Office@utc.edu. The office is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.

As your student adjusts to campus life and settles into their new routine, encourage your student to make getting involved on campus a priority! Getting involved may look a little different for every student, however, we have a fantastic campus resource that can make this process very simple!
MocSync is our campus involvement platform that hosts each of our active registered students organizations, a list of campus community events, available leadership roles and more! Make sure your student finds a way to build a community here on campus that makes being away from home just a bit easier!
