Dr. Michelle Deardorff (Political Science and Public Service) has received $15,000 from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for the project entitled, “2019-20 Washington Center internship program.”

Dr. Lucien Ellington and Jeffrey Melnik (School of Education) have requested and received $82,069 from the Association for Asian Studies, Inc. for the project entitled, “Education about Asia Journal 2020.”

Drs. June Hanks (Physical Therapy) and Ron Goulet (Mechanical Engineering) have requested and received $1,440 from the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association for the project entitled, “Validity and Reliability of a Pressure Interface Monitor.”

Tricia Henderson and Elizabeth O’Brien Oden (Student Affairs) have received $99,884 from the use and Mental Health Services for the project entitled, “UTC GLS Suicide Prevention Project.”

Drs. Abdelrahman Karrar and Abdul Ofoli (Electrical Engineering) have received $27,273 from the Tennessee Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners for the project entitled, “TBAEE 2020 Electrical Engineering Interdisciplinary Design Project Proposal + FE Exam Fees.”

Catherine Kendall (Interior Design) has received $3,878 from the Tennessee Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners for the project entitled, “2019 TBAEE NCIDQ Scholarships Freshman Packets and 3D Mapping Grant Proposal.”

Dr. David Levine (Physical Therapy) has requested and received $5,000 from Thrive Tape, Inc. for the project entitled, “The Effect of Thrive Tape on Shoulder Pain and Function in Patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.”

Dr. Stephen Mandravelis (Art) has requested and received $1,786 from Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide for the project entitled, “Access to Avenues of Art:  Mapping the Cultivation of Rural Art Markets through the American Agriculturist 1850-1880.”

Drs. Hong Qin and Dalei Wu (National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense) have received $617,729 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Collaborative Research: SFS Program: Strengthening the National Cyber Security Workforce.”

Dr. Jill Shelton (Psychology) has received $1,340 from the Society for the Teaching of Psychology for the project entitled, “Those Who Teach, Can Do: Development of Professional Skills through Undergraduate Teaching Experience.”

Drs. Nurhidajat Sisworahardjo and Abdul Ofoli (Electrical Engineering) have requested and received $16,394 from Robert Gonyea for the project entitled, “Initial Prototype of 200 Watts Wireless Power Transfer.”

Perry Storey (Challenger Center) has received $10,000 from the Alliance of Women Philanthropists – Giving Circle for the project entitled, “Bringing the World and More to Teachers and Students in the Tennessee Valley.”

Dr. Hamdy Ibrahim (Mechanical Engineering) has requested $5,000 from Oak Ridge Associated Universities for the project entitled, “Surface treatments of biodegradable metals towards patient-specific bone implant applications.”
