Mission and Vision

UTC Solar Decathlon (UTC-SD) is an interdisciplinary and academic organization based in Chattanooga, TN and is the official Solar Decathlon team for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).

The mission of UTC Solar Decathlon is to provide opportunities for students to learn fundamental building science knowledge, gain hands-on experiences, and unique training on energy-efficient building sectors, which help students be future workforces for clean energy building industry. The vision is to build affordable and energy-zero houses in the upcoming years by participating students, external mentors and external sponsors making a positive community impact in Chattanooga area.
