The Department of History will hold its 3rd annual African American History event on May 10, 2016 at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. Against the backdrop of the Bessie’s new exhibit on “Negro League Baseball in Chattanooga,” a panel of community participants will discuss the relationships – past, present, and future – among the Lincoln Park, Warner Park, Engel Stadium, and UTC communities.

Phi Alpha Theta Induction
On April 25, 2016, the UTC History Department inducted several students into the Lambda-Pi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history.
