UTC Parents and Families,
This fall is full of opportunities not only for students to be involved on campus, but also for families to experience what it means to be part of the UTC community. UTC has a number of long-standing traditions that bring our community together, and we are excited to invite you to be part of the fun.
One of the best ways to connect is by joining us for Fall Family Weekend, October 17–19. This is our premier family event of the year and the perfect time to visit campus, enjoy activities designed specifically for families, and see firsthand the excitement of student life at UTC. Soon after, we’ll come together for Homecoming, October 25–November 1, when the campus will be painted blue and gold as students, alumni, friends, and families celebrate UTC traditions and spirit. In addition, Mocs Give Day on October 7 provides families an opportunity to show support by giving back to programs and campus organizations that have made a difference in their student’s experience.
Being engaged in our community is what makes these traditions so meaningful, and parents and families are an important part of it all. We encourage you to take part in these upcoming events and celebrate alongside your student. More details about each program can be found below.

Being Involved in College: How Can It Benefit Me?

Greetings from Janice Cosey, Bursar
It is the seventh week of classes at the University and Part of Term II will begin on October 7.
We are still prepared to assist in the continued educational journey of your student(s)! It is suggested that students provide access to parents, guardians, or others, by setting up the MyMocsPass Phase, through the MyMocsNet account, which also allows the Bursar Office Team to discuss specific account related information. It is important that you encourage your son or daughter to check their email on a regular basis.
Refunds are processed throughout the semester and there is still time to set up an ACH/Direct Deposit account. It is a secure option and the quickest method to receive a refund, if applicable. Paper checks are mailed to the permanent address on file, which can take 5-10+ days via USPS.
If the Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) was utilized for the Fall Semester, the next payment is due October 1. A late fee of $50 is applied on the 4th of the month if the scheduled payment is not received.
If you have general questions, please contact our office at 423.425.4781 or email us at Bursars-Office@utc.edu. The office is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.
Go Mocs!!!
Future Dates to Remember:
- November 1- Final TIPP payment due date
- November 2- Account holds placed for Outstanding Balances
- November 19- First E-Mocs Statement for Spring 2026
- December 11- Fee Payment Deadline for Spring 2026

We Want Your Student’s Feedback – Have them complete the UT Student Experience Survey!

The survey has been shared with students via email and is also accessible via their MyMocsNet portal. Mocs Give Day
Tuesday, October 7, is Mocs Give Day—UTC’s annual day of giving—when proud alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends unite and give generously to make a difference for UTC. Our goal for 2025 is 2,100 donors and your gift will help us get there!
Think about what matters most to you about UTC: a college or department, a favorite sport, student success programs, or scholarships. On October 7, seven challenges will be available to make the most of your gift – a $5 gift could unlock a gift of $25,000 or more just by giving on Mocs Give Day.
As a special incentive, the first 500 donors making a gift of $100 or more will receive a limited-edition Scrappy block kit. This adorable Lego-inspired Scrappy is only available on Mocs Give Day, so make a plan to give early on Tuesday, October 7!

Off-Campus Experience
The Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) office is here to help any students currently living off-campus, whether at home or on their own, with any and all challenges that they may be facing. Check out our website to see all that we do and all the resources we have available for students and parents (www.utc.edu/ocss).
Off-Campus Housing Fair is coming October 17th, from 5p-8pm on Oak Street in front of Hooper Hall. Even though it is only October, it is not too early to start thinking about housing for next year as some properties are already taking applications and will begin executing leases by the end of October. To help students and parents see what’s out there and learn more about the process, OCSS will be hosting an Off-Campus Housing Fair. As this is Parents’ Weekend, we hope to see many of you as well. Our property partners will be there to share information, flyers, and goodies. And as a thank you for coming by, OCSS will be providing Bruster’s Ice Cream! Tell your students to come, …come check us out!
